DREAM BIG GOMPA EDITION
This extension project is the second stage of our three-stage Dream Big project started in 2018. The main goal of this project is the development of the Diamondway activity for all South America, integrating the sangha activity of the involved countries, Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Uruguay. The project aims at creating suitable conditions for sustaining and increasing the activity in the region, including courses, meditation retreats and center meetings.

After finishing our first stage in which we learnt to work together as a region, we are now aiming at presenting the second stage of this big project, the Gompa edition.
A new Gompa with increased capacity is proposed, including all necessary features and equipment, restrooms and heating system. General infrastructure improvements are also considered in the project, including the extension of the solar panels farm to ensure sufficient and consistent energy and water supply. The restoration of camping toilets and showers, as well as the conditioning of the existing shed, including flooring and shelves for more efficient storage is also included in this second stage of the project.

Our Dream Big project is the result of 19 years of activity in Uruguay and the region, including the advice of international sangha friends with experience in other retreat places in different countries.
In the last years, the activity in the region has grown. In April 2022 we had the first regional course after the pandemic without sanitary restriction. In this occasion around 80 friends from Argentina Chile, Brazil and Uruguay came to KDL. We had an inspiring Easter course with teaching and meditation with Peter Jevos. Taking the advantage of the Easter course the KDL sangha had a meeting in which it was decided to look forward towards a bigger gompa. Wishes and the new restarting of the work together as a region was the kick off for the work towards this goal.

WANT TO SUPPORT OUR PROJECT?
Diamond Way Buddhist centers and projects function through unpaid, voluntary work on the basis of friendship and idealism. The goal is to offer an accessible way to the Buddha’s practical teachings and skillful methods which are applicable in everyday life. Our Buddhist centers are not abstract institutions, but places where everyone can meet to meditate, to share development and actively participate in the maintenance of the center, which makes all this possible.
